Oven preheat 350 degrees F

Ingredients

Apples:

  • 6 cups peeled sliced apples
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2+ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch salt

Batter:

  • 1 cup melted shortening (or vegan butter)
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp kosher vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp plant milk (or water)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2+ tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp salt
